Modular backyard and recreational buildings: Finnish saunas designed with Kamu Sauna, garden suites and backyard studios, sheds and workshops, and recreation and commercial buildings like food & beverage kiosks, golf “at the turn” kiosks, pool shacks and BBQ pavilions. Our crew also does on-site builds such as indoor and hotel spa saunas, and we take on custom projects.

Every building is built indoors in our Edmonton shop and can be shipped across Canada. Our own crews handle installation in Alberta and BC.

Saunas and our food & beverage kiosk have published starting prices. Studios, garden suites and custom projects are priced per project, based on your site and plan. Tax and shipping are extra, and placement, site preparation, foundations, electrical and permits are quoted separately unless listed in your quote. On request, we can price these out for you after a site visit.

Yes, and we encourage it. You can make small changes to one of our standard models, or work with us on a fully custom design. See custom projects for how that works.

Absolutely. We support you through the permitting process, including application drawings and documents, correspondence with the development officer, inspections and final occupancy. We can also coordinate the site work outside the building itself, such as foundations, service connections, grading, landscaping, decks and pergolas.

Often not. Our small and medium Pihka sizes and the Mettä are designed to fit within most municipal no-permit guidelines, but rules vary by municipality, so we’ll confirm for your address. Larger or custom builds may need one, and we can help with the permit process if required.

Yes. Our details are developed to meet code in most jurisdictions, including current energy code requirements, and we can provide engineered drawings for all disciplines across Canada. Requirements vary with how a building will be used, so it’s best to talk this through with us early.

Both are available. Electric heaters are included in our sauna pricing, and wood-fired stoves are available as an option. Both are the real thing: authentic Finnish sauna stoves made for water on the rocks (löyly).
